Mardi Grass Indians.

Mardi Gras Indians,  is a tradition that have been supported by African American people, because Mardi Gras at the beginning was a close society for a group who enjoyed - white people.  The black community have been the necessity to enjoy and be part of the tradition and celebrate Mardi Gras too.  The black community have put money for this parade and now it has a important impact in the economy.

  1. Carlos,

Mardi Gras Indians are important financially, but they are also an important part of the culture of black neighborhood! Tribal leaders are often times neighborhood leaders, too. :)
